tennis marathon24 hours ... 1440 minutes ... 86400 seconds ... 24 opponents ... many more games won than lost ... That's the enviable record established by GSTC Head Coach Hamie Hejazi during his 24 marathon tennis match on 8-9th July 2006 as he raised lots of money for NSPCC - a charity close to his heart. Cheered on through the sun, rain and wind (typical British summer weather!) through the early hours AND in full view of the thousands of visitors to the Great Shelford Village Feast, Hamid's efforts came to a fruitful end at 2pm on Sunday 9th July Full details of the amount raised will follow - but Hamid would like to express his thanks to the Club and to the players and supporters who helped him through the ordeal. Special thanks to Jacqui, Savlon and a pair of rubber gloves (don't ask!) Click on the thumbnails below for larger pictures ... |
