|AGM CBE. Annual General Meeting Cold But Effective.|
On 8th February the temperature inside the GSTC clubhouse plummeted to minus 22 degrees Celsius.
Or rather that's how cold it felt to us members gathered for the Annual General Meeting. Warmed only by high spirits and and a drop of red wine, the freezing conditions made for splendidly brief meeting where Patrick Rau was crowned as the club's new chairman. Hooray for Chairman Rau! We also decided on a new knockout format for the men's and ladies' doubles, and that from April Saturday club sessions will run later; between 4.30pm and 7pm. This is to enable members to fit something into their day beforehand; to let the sessions finish around cocktail time; and to end the plague of low sunlight in winter that can turn a match into a game of blind man's blunder.
